Thatcher Elementary School

Site Council

round
Dear staff, families, and community members,

Schools in Arizona are required by law to have a Site Council. This group is made up of a variety of stakeholders, including parents, teachers, non-certified/classified employees, community members, and the school’s principal. This group works with the principal to review student achievement and school data, identify areas for improvement, provide input on school priorities, and support continuous improvement at Thatcher Elementary School.

While Site Councils do not function quite like School Board meetings, we are required to let our community know when and where our meetings are, as well as the meeting’s agenda. All are welcome to attend meetings as observers; however, participation in discussion at meetings will be limited to the opening portion of the meeting (Call to the Public) and on select agenda items wherein the Site Council is seeking the feedback of those in attendance.

Visitors can submit a Call to the Public request simply by submitting a written/typed letter to the school’s office or emailing a request to the school’s principal at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting. Visitors are unable to vote on agenda items and must maintain order throughout the meeting.

Sincerely,
Anthony Vincent
Principal, Thatcher Elementary School
