
Applications for open enrollment are accepted year round. If applying for the following school year, the school will notify the parent/guardian of a decision.
- The physical capacity of the school building and classrooms
- Availability of staff (i.e. administrators, teachers, other certificated employees, related service providers)
- Capacity in relevant special programs
- Availability of other resources
Open Enrollment Application
Submission and Processing of the Application
- The completed application is received and timestamped by the school you wish to attend or at our District Office. You may also email the completed application to swyers.sundee@thatcherud.org.
- The application is given to the School Principal for review.
- The parent/guardian will be notified on the results of the application either by the schools Principal or the Registrar.
Approved Applications
- If your application is approved, parent/guardian will need to respond within 5 business days to confirm the acceptance. Failure to do so will result in your space being offered to the next applicant.
- You must complete our Online Registration process by visiting our website at www.thatcherud.org.
- Once the Online Registration has been submitted the schools Registrar will contact you.
Denied Applications
- If your application has been denied, the schools Principal or Registrar will notify you. No further action is needed from you.
Applications placed on the Waiting List
- If the grade you have applied for capacity is full, you will be contacted with the option to be placed on a Waiting List. If this option is for you, you will be placed on the wait list based off the timestamp on your Open Enrollment Application. When space becomes available in the grade level, you will be contacted by the schools Registrar. You will then need to complete the school's Online Registration.
- If you decide not to take advantage of the enrollment opportunity when offered but wish to remain on the waiting list, your name will be moved to the bottom of the list.
Do I need to apply for Open Enrollment each year?
Yes. Currently enrolled students already on open enrollment, whom would like to attend Thatcher Schools for the following school year, are required to apply/re-apply annually. The deadline for these applications is March 15th. Applications after this date are not guaranteed enrollment and may be placed on a waiting list for consideration. *Annual re-applying applications always go to the District Office or can be emailed to swyers.sundee@thatcherud.org.
When is an Open Enrollment Application required?
When a student resides out of the boundaries of the school district.
How do I check the status of my Open Enrollment?
You will be notified of the status of your application as soon as it has been processed. Depending on the number of applications and the time of year, it could take some time to review and process your application. Please be patient.
